Corporate Wellness
FFC’s Program is comprised of three components:
1. Insitu Advantage™ - On-site training!
At Fitness Foundation Consultants, we know how hard it is to find
time for a “workout” with a busy schedule. Work and family obligations often
times rise above our own personal well-being. That is why FFC has incorporated
the most highly qualified trainers to assist employees with simple workout
routines on-site. All that is needed is a room; a conference room, an empty
office, or any other unused space can be used to give employees a workout that
is extremely beneficial.
The workout programs are designed by FFC’s specialized trainers
(Certified Strength Conditioning Specialists) who take great care in designing
workouts that are customized to each employee, even those with special
conditions. Customized programs can help with chronic numbness due to
repetitive movements associated with carpal tunnel syndrome, a common office
place injury. Program designs extend to all populations, including the
overweight and diabetic. On-site training alleviates the need for travel to and
from a gym, the high cost associated with personal trainers, the apprehension
some feel about the gym environment, and the lack of knowledge that is
associated with “How to Work out” for those who have little knowledge on the
subject. The experts are in the office, with the employees.
FFC realizes that employers are losing productivity and profit dollars due to
both employee illness and health care cost, which result from chronic
conditions. Cost control is crucial to business success. Loss of productivity
due to obesity related illness is measurable and manageable.
The FFC program is designed with companies in mind, using customized
computer technology to monitor results and assist companies, and their
employees, with their specific needs. Simple data input tracks the progress of
reductions in employee absenteeism due to health related issues, measures
physical fitness progress on scales, and provides monthly appointments with
wellness counselors to discuss employee strategies relating to disease
prevention and management.
2. Nutrition
Education is paramount to understanding “good” nutrition.
“Nutrition” seems to be a mystery to most. There are different
theories touted in the market; eliminate a food group, eat only at a certain
hour, and stay away from this or that. It is no wonder that consumers are
confused. The problem seems to be too much information, much of which is
inaccurate or misunderstood. As a nation, we have garbled the abundance of
information we are given and are none the wiser with respect of information we
are given, and none the wiser with respect to nutrition.
Food is viewed as a celebratory comfort. Every holiday is centered
around what we eat. In the past, eating out was considered a treat. Today, due
to hectic schedules and lifestyles, people rely on eating out as the norm.
People turn to food as a way of dealing with emotions and stress; a stressed out
person feels they deserve to indulge, creating an era of emotional
eaters. We as a society have distanced ourselves from the essential needs of
our bodies to the point we are unable to hear or feel what our bodies truly
need.
At FFC, we believe that a realistic approach to diet is the best
cure to a person’s resistance to change. Gradual elimination of harmful foods
in diets allows the resistant person time to adjust to a new way of thought and
behavior. The same is true of adding beneficial foods to a person’s diet.
Society’s behaviors surrounding diet and exercise have taken years to set in
place. Changing the behavior is possible, but it takes patience and
persistence. Nutrition education, information, behavior modification, and
eating accountability are all included in the FFC program.
FFC places education in the forefront of its nutrition program. Seminars will
be available to the client-employees twice a month, with up-to date information
presented in layman terms. The seminars are not only engaging and fun, they are
also motivating! Empowering a person by providing the information on how
to succeed is the essential first step in changing behavior. At FFC, we believe
that if we can empower people with this information, we will have created a
Revolution for wellness.
FFC’s monthly newsletter lists healthy recipes, and informs the
recipients of all the scheduled local events and fitness specials, including
planned wellness seminars and other special events.
3. Stress Management
FFC’s stress management component is the third prong of its balanced
wellness program.
The stress management component is implemented through specialized
techniques such as visualization and breathing. FFC has a Specialized Stress
Management program that is used to accommodate wellness education for
employees. All the consultants within FFC are certified stress managers using
“Soft skills.” The Stress Management component is provided through
individualized educational tools and generalized newsletters and seminars.
Employees enrolled in the FFC program will receive bi-monthly, 30-45 minute,
sessions with an Enhancement Coach where they will be able to discuss all
aspects of the client-employees wellness program so that a plan can be developed
that takes into account obstacles that might otherwise hinder progress. This
intervention reduces the likelihood that the at risk employee will recidivate.
